Clemens „Ernst“ Kern

Born 2002 in Munich, where I am based and available for international assignments.

My path into photography began at fifteen, sparked by my father’s travel camera and the realization that capturing moments holds its own substance. Since then, I have operated entirely self-taught, shaped by the visual worlds of Josef Koudelka, Erwin Olaf, and Karl Lagerfeld and many more.

My middle name is Ernst – the German word for serious – which fits how people often misread me. While I genuinely love connecting and exchanging ideas with others, I prefer to observe quietly rather than add to the noise. This stillness is sometimes mistaken for coldness, but it is actually just my way of focusing on what is essential.

In my commercial work, I rely on the symbiosis of digital precision and analogue film. My personal, artistic projects, however, remain uncompromising and exclusively analogue.
